Marilyn Boho

Last night was our fusion fashion show at Movida. It was literally THE perfect night. perfect atmosphere - perfect temperature and the warm winds were so inviting. Made all the dresses look phemominal on the models. It inspired me to wear something nice & flowy today.

Now WHY....for the love of the lake... (those at the event last night will get that one) did I not think about the math here?

One gauzy long boho skirt belted as a SHORT dress + One breezy day in Dallas = TOO damn embarassing of a moment.

So heres the scenario:
I'm at RaceTrack pumping my gas. One hand on the car, the other holding the pump when all of a sudden this WILD racing wind comes and whips up my skirt faster than you can imagine blowing it up my back and over my shoulders. It was a "Marilyn" Moment - that iconic one pictured here but MINUS the smiling face and 2 free hands to hold down the skirt.

What I wore:

  • champagne rhinestone stiletto sandals

  • vintage boho skirt worn as a mini dress
  • vintage brown leather 0 ring belt
  • vintage ribbon stitched 3/4 sleeve bolero

S'nickers

I've been craving chocolate lately. The confection of choice? Snickers: the rich milk chocolate, sweet caramel nougat and crunchy peanuts - mmmmmmm - yummy!
Lookin at this outfit you may wonder - so whats the candy bar connection?

SEQUINS + KNICKERS = S'NICKERS

I know, I know - pretty pathetic stretch huh? Can't help it. The heart wants what the heart wants & mine wants candy!

What I wore:

  • Platinum grey faux snakeskin stilettos
  • Black wool 2 pocket pleated knickers
  • Vintage metallic floral brocade tapestry belt
  • Forever 21 black sequin camisole
  • Vintage Alexanders grey wool tweed leather patch boys blazer

Ellafunk

Woke up missin WBGO (my fav NJ radio station) so I was feelin in a jazzy-scatty kind of mood. Those who have seen the movie 'Thick as Thieves' know what I mean. Decided to listen to some Ella Fitzgerald to console myself. That child there created the original Elllafunk sound (not to be confused with Black-eyed-peas Elephunk)
