'Case of Base' retro boomboxes crafted from vintage suitcases

Today I came across these WICKED cool Case of Base hand-made portable sound systems.  They're upcycled from old vintage suitcases. Each one is custom designed in Portland, Oregon by brothers Ezra and Alex Cimino-Hurt. 

My personal favorite pictured above is the MuuRay model.  Powder blue case inset

with a sweet 12-inch woofer and LED backlighting. Yeah Boiiiii!!

I seriously need one of these for my shop.

Marni dives into furniture design with a Mid Century Modern Patio Collection

Check out this cool Marni patio chaise!  Nodding to the Mid Century modern design asthetic, its the fashion house's first ever furniture collection. These limited edition pieces were hand-crafted by current and former inmates of the San Gil detention centre in Columbia. The project was part of a social rehabilitation activity and uses salvaged materials.  Sold exclusively in the Marni Boutique at Via della Spiga, all proceeds will be donated to the ICAM institute in Milan benefitting children of imprisoned mothers. {source}
